Saturday, January 17, 2015 (La Posa South LTVA, Quartzsite, AZ)

Yesterday we had received a note from Bob and Sue inviting us on another quad ride that was going to be led by their friend Dan. I had plans to do laundry with Pam...so at 9:30 Steve headed down with Art and Fred to join the group going on the ride. There were 7 machines and 9 people on today's ride. As usual, he took tons of pictures...that he managed to get edited down to the following (click on pictures to enlarge). Here was his day.

Once again we're off to Dripping Springs...

Turn off to Dripping Springs...
Up we go...
 Arriving at Dripping Springs....

There were two couples that had never been here before so Dan gave them the tour of the Springs and Petroglyphs...

Here comes company...

And we're off...time for us to tackle that hill...top centre of photo!
Back down to the canyon wash...

Then up the hill where all those SXS's were coming down...
View back from that hill...
Our last stop of the day will be the towers on top of Guadalupe Mountain  in the distance...

7 of the 8 people in these buggies were deaf and were part of a deaf camping club

We had some great conversation with them mostly thru their hearing leader...one of them took our group photo and we did the same...

This is the mine shaft that's below where we were sitting for our group photo...

Arriving for lunch at Apache Chief cabin also known as Moe's cabin...
Reads Moe. I am no Moe. Rest in peace 2003...
 Lunch time...Steve couldn't remember everyone's names...

Gold Nugget Mine...the towers on Guadalupe Mountain in the background is our final stop...
Up we go to the towers on Guadalupe Mountain ...
 This is steep!

Time to head home...
This section is so steep it is paved with concrete and grooved...

I spent my day doing laundry in the morning and then catching up on our blog posts in the afternoon. Just before 4:00, Pam sent a text inviting me over for a glass of wine...and that's where I was when we heard the "pack" of quads returning just before 5:00. Steve joined me at Red and Pam's and we shared cocktails, watched the sun go behind the mountain...and heard all about the great day Steve had.

After a couple of drinks, we wandered back home (well, I wandered and Steve rode his quad)...time for dinner and an evening relaxing in front of the TV!
