Thursday, July 3, 2014 (Leighton North Campground, Tunkwa Provincial Park, BC)

First of all....Happy Birthday to our youngest son, Chris, born 29 years ago today! We love you and wish you the very best...exciting times ahead for you in the coming year!

Today was a pretty laid back day. Steve wanted to off-load the quads and the boat...basically, finish "setting up". First of all, he went up on the trailer roof to clean the solar panels and while up there took these pictures...                                                                             (Click to enlarge photos)

Late morning we decided to take a little drive to see if I could find a pay phone...we wanted to call Chris and wish him a Happy Birthday. We couldn't find one...oh well, we plan on going into Logan Lake tomorrow to do laundry so we'll contact him then. Now...the funny part about this is that I later found out from one of the park facilitators that there is in fact a pay phone at the entrance to Tunkwa Lake Campground. Hmmm...that's odd...we didn't see one. And then I took a look at the following picture I took of the entrance to Tunkwa Lake Campground...and plain as can be is the pay phone just sitting there!! Too funny! Guess I was just more interested in the lake!

It's a pretty big campground!

After our drive through Tunkwa Lake Campground, we went further down the road and went into Tunkwa Lake Resort...it's a private fishing resort surrounded by the Provincial Park...

Once back from our little drive, it was time to off-load the boat...

A couple more pictures of our site...beautiful blue sky but it's still fairly windy out...

And some close-ups of the marmots...

So as I said earlier...it was a pretty laid back day. One thing not having any internet service is that I am getting lots of reading done!
