Tuesday, August 20, 2013 (Chena River State Campground, Fairbanks, Alaska)

Our appointment to have the truck serviced was for 9:00 a.m....so, we were up and out fairly early (by our standards!).  The service took about 1 1/2 hours...we spent our time in their waiting room where they had free WiFi.  I worked on the blog (as usual) and Steve edited pictures.

After fuelling up with diesel ($4.13/gallon), it was time to head to the Laundromat...where we spent a "wonderful" couple of hours.  Once finished there, we treated ourselves to lunch out at the Sourdough Café and then picked up a few groceries on the way home.

Alan and Cec had gone on a riverboat cruise yesterday and it sounded great, so we decided to stay another day and take it.  While I put the clean laundry away, Steve made reservations for tomorrow.

With that all taken care of, we decided to get out for a walk.  Steve took this picture of an airboat parked in a campsite just down from us. Airboats are quite common in Alaska.

We took a walk down to the day use area...and the Chena River...

On our way back, we stopped at Alan and Cec's to say goodbye...the group is heading to Tok tomorrow.  We got home just in time before it started raining...and spent the evening watching TV (and working on our blog).
