Thursday, April 5, 2012 (Fort Camping, Brae Island Regional Park, Fort Langley, BC)

Steve spent a good part of the morning on the laptop researching RV storage facilities.  After a phone call in response to an ad, he found out a little more about the location and we headed out to take a look.  It was a spot off the Langley Bypass...nope, not going to work.

We weren’t far from ITB where we had the truck box made so we thought we would stop there.  Steve wanted to talk to them about an issue with the boat loader mount as well as about some a missing rivet.  As soon as we pulled in, we were recognized by some of the workers and the service manager.  They talked about a solution to the boat loader mount problem...and a date was set up to bring the truck in to have the work done (next Thursday).

Once done there, we decided to go back to Econo Storage and take another look at the spot we had been looking at to store the fifth-wheel.  Not only does the spot have to be big enough for the trailer, but we also have to have lots of room to maneuver the truck to get it in between two other RVs.  The spots are 10 feet wide and we're 8 feet wide, so there isn’t an awful lot of “wiggle room”.  We decided to go ahead and book the spot...even though we have to take it for 2 months.  At least, we have a spot to store the trailer when we leave for Victoria at the end of the month.

After that was taken care of, we had a couple of more errands to take of...first of all, to Home Depot.  Steve needed to find some screws to replace ones that had worked their way out of a panel in the trailer plus we wanted to see if we could find a piece of rubber to protect the bikes while on the rack.  We ended up getting a strip of vinyl that is used in flooring.  Hopefully that will work.  Next we ended up at London Drugs where Steve had purchased his camera last year.  He wanted to replace the polarized lens filter he lost on the hike at McDowell Mountain Regional Park...turns out it was a $111.00 hike!

Steve dropped me off at the office on the way into the park.  We have decided to just stay here for the whole month rather than go out to Squamish.  We would still like to go check that area out sometime but will wait until the weather is better...maybe we`ll go out that way in June....

By the time we got home, we were starving so I made us a late lunch...then it was time for a little exercise.  Although there were some pretty ominous looking clouds out there, we decided to go for a bike ride.  This time we rode out of the park, across the bridge and along the trail on the other side of the river.  I took a couple of pictures...

And that was pretty much our day.  Steve`s sister and her husband, Nadine and Mike, are coming over to Abbotsford tomorrow for the weekend so they are going to stop by for a visit.  We are really looking forward to seeing them...along with our son Chris too...since it is a holiday tomorrow; he is going to drive out from Vancouver for a visit as well.
