Saturday, January 21, 2012 (BLM La Posa South Camp, Quartzsite, AZ)

The forecast for our ride today was for wind, a 20% chance of showers and cooler temperatures than what we have been experiencing.  They definitely got the wind part right!  But we had no rain, so that was good.

Getting the cargo boxes packed and ready to go...

We all gathered by Earl and Alison’s trailer at 10:30...

...and we're soon on our way.  There 11 of us on 8 quads.  We stopped numerous times and took plenty of pictures....

The trails are busy today with both ATVs and Jeeps out 4x4ing...

Our first destination was Dripping Springs (I think that was the name) where we parked the quads and went for a walk into the canyon to see the springs...true to its name....drip...a long wait...drip...

There are also petroglyphs...the Indians used to pass this way...

We stopped for lunch by an old cabin...

Doc and Pat taking a look inside...

Great trails through the mountains...

Beautiful views...and a dust storm in the distance...

We stopped at an old mine site...

We were back home just before 4pm...what a great day!  We unloaded the cargo boxes and locked up the quads and after dusting ourselves off, went inside...oh...it was good to get out of the wind and dust!

We got changed and after a quick visit over to thank Earl very much for the day, we retreated inside out of the wind...as the evening wore on, we started to lose sight of the mountains...a regulation dust storm!
