Saturday, September 17, 2011 (Moyie Lake Provincial Park, BC)

I was woken up at 5am this morning by a constant “beep, beep, beep”...hmmm...that’s the fridge, I guess one of the propane tanks is empty.  Since Steve was quietly snoring beside me, he obviously didn’t hear it and wasn’t going to get up...so I got up and turned the fridge off but there is no way I’m going outside right now to turn the other tank on...at least not right now.  I got back into bed and snuggled down and actually went back to sleep.

Next thing I knew Steve was getting up...it was 6:30.  He went outside and turned the other propane tank on and then got the coffee on.  I can honestly say that I think it is the first time since we retired that he was up before me.
After enjoying our morning coffee, we decided it was time to get on with our resistance exercises...and our day.  Our plan for today was to go for a good walk but first we were going to drive to Moyie to see if we could get our propane tank filled.  The community of Moyie consists of one General Store that also houses the post office and liquor store as well as gas station.  Unfortunately, no propane...our choices were to continue west towards Yahk or go back to Cranbrook.    We decided on Cranbrook, only about 19 kms...mind you, when we left there yesterday, we thought we were saying goodbye to the city...we didn’t expect to be back again (at least not for some time).
We were back at the trailer shortly after noon.  We sat outside with a bottle of water before going on our walk.  It was really windy again today...with some sun but a lot of clouds being blown around.  Poor Steve...he was hoping to launch the boat and do some fishing. This will probably be his last opportunity before we head south to the states. We walked to the entrance of the campground where we took the Meadow Trail.  It was a nice trail through larch and pine forest that ended at the picnic area and beach on the lake.  There were major whitecaps on the lake again today...
This fellow spent an aweful long time untangling the lines for this huge kite...we started to wait but he was just taking too long...
Our campsite...

We had a nice 40 minute walk and then relaxed in our chairs outside to do some reading.  We were bundled up but it was still pretty chilly out so at about 3pm Steve got a campfire going.  Hard to believe that one week ago today, we were in shorts with the temps in the high 20’s/70’s!

As usual, we headed inside around 6pm.  After dinner, I read my book off and on while watching TV...a pretty typical evening for us...
