Friday, September 9, 2011 (Fort Steele Resort & RV Park, Fort Steele, BC)

Steve was outside shortly after 8am this morning...getting the hoses, brushes...and all the cleaning paraphernalia ready.  It was still quite chilly out, so he actually had to come back in and change into his sweats.

I sat inside at the kitchen table with the laptop writing and preparing yesterday’s blog...while Steve was on the roof scrubbing. When he was about half done the roof, he came down to change back into his shorts and t-shirt...it was warming up quickly out there...plus I guess the physical exertion played a big part!

I went out after he was finished on the roof to give him a hand with the awning and the slider awnings...he decided to clean the top of the sliders and the underside of the slider awnings.  A very awkward and tedious job!  He got soaked doing it...and I spent my time (while holding the ladder still) ducking and dodging water and the hose that was swinging every which way!

It was close to 12:30 by the time he was finished...a good 4 hour plus job!  And “phase 1” of our trailer wash done.  Tomorrow would be “phase 2”.
We have decided to just “bite the bullet” and stay here until next Wednesday.  That would make it a week...so I rode my bike up to the office to extend our stay and see if they would give us the weekly rate.  To get the weekly rate, you usually have to decide upon check-in, but they waived this policy for us.  The weekly rate is pay for 6 nights and get the 7th free.  We decided to stay put for a number of reasons...mainly due to some parcels that we being shipped to Cranbrook.  Rob mailed a package that should be at the post office on Monday; Steve’s replacement Visa card is being delivered to the bank in Cranbrook and should be there by Monday as well...and then there is our ShawDirect satellite receiver...well, hopefully it will be delivered to the local dealer sometime early next week.  Besides it is quiet here (it’s pretty darned empty this time of year) and we are also able to get everything all cleaned up.
The rest of the day ended up being pretty leisurely...I decided to continue my internet search for RV parks in the Phoenix area.  To find someplace fairly close to the airport, we may just have to settle on one of the “mega” parks that are mainly full of permanent/seasonal park-model trailers.  It’s funny...I’d say 95% of the parks are designated “55+ senior communities”...yeah...we’re 55+ but senior?? Sheesh!
After a busy work morning, Steve relaxed in his recliner watching TV...we both were enjoying the comfort of the air-conditioned trailer.  At about 3pm, I decided to go outside and sun myself for a bit and then at 4, Steve came outside and we commenced our Friday night happy hour.  Mind you, we soon moved into the shade!  Notice the fly-swatter?...just too many wasps around right now...

Tomorrow we will finish washing the trailer...bright and early before it gets too hot!
