Tuesday, January 7, 2014 (La Posa South LTVA, Quartzsite, AZ)

It was about mid-morning when we were ready to go out for a walk. There were clouds hanging around but there was still blue sky, so hopefully the clouds covering the sun will move on. Once back, we stopped at Earl and Allison's to say hi...Earl had gone into Quartzsite for propane so we chatted with Allison. While there, a van dropped off another neighbour, Art. He and Jan had arrived last Sunday.  They are usually the first down here but due to circumstances back home in Washington State, didn't think they would be coming this year. So it was a big surprise when they arrived.

Art tows his fifth-wheel with a semi-tractor truck and while in Quartzsite, it had broken down. A fellow at Discount Solar (where it broke down) kindly drove him back to his trailer, leaving Jan there. We all stood chatting until Earl returned and then he and Art headed back to pick up Jan. I guess Art's truck was towed to a repair place and now it was a matter of waiting for the part to arrive.

Steve and I decided to go out and find the last five geogaches in a string that Earl had placed. We had walked to find the first nine but decided to take our ATVs out today. So we changed into some riding clothes and were off.

The first geocache was cleverly hidden on the end of a dead branch that had been placed up in a tree...

Another "find" in a dead log...

...and one in a tree...

Back from our little geocaching adventure, we decided to do a little work.  Steve fired up the generator so that I could vacuum...while I did that, he borrowed Earl's portable sani-station and filled the fresh water tank.

Less than an hour later, our work was done and we headed off into Quartzsite. A parcel Steve was waiting for had finally been delivered to Quiet Times, so we went to pick it up and run a couple of other errands. The parcel was the order he had placed with Top Tough Awnings...he is going to replace the awning on our big dining slider. The video and instructions say it's fairly easy...I guess we'll find out next week when he decides to give it a try.

Another beautiful sunset...this picture (click to enlarge) is actually taken to the east with the sun lighting up the mountains brilliantly! A gorgeous end to the day...
