Monday, September 2, 2013 (Travel to Meziadin Lake Provincial Park, Stewart-Cassiar Highway, BCV)

The lake was so calm as we prepared to leave...no fog this morning.

We left Kinaskan Lake at about 8:40...our drive today would be a fairly short one.  We are going to the third and last Provincial Park along the Stewart-Cassiar Highway...Meziadin Lake Provincial Park, 205 kms/127 miles.  It was an absolutely beautiful travel day and the scenery was spectacular!

We stopped at the Bob Quinn rest area...

Such a pretty drive...

 Bell Irving River...

Another hour and another rest area stop.  We need to stop every hour or so to check the bedroom slider and put it back in. This is Mehan Lake...

Not much traffic...

A Black Bear hightailing it off the highway...

We're going to go to Stewart and Hyder  tomorrow...
Bell River...

We arrived at our destination at 11:45.  As we drove through, all of the lakefront sites were full and besides, I think we would have had trouble backing into them.  However, there is a large open area, called "the point" and there were lots of sites available there...and they all (well, most of them) backed right onto the lake...sweet!  We chose one and started our usual set up.

Steve setting up the satellite dish...shouldn't be a problem with trees in this site!  And we latched onto a signal no problem...but...we needed to "ping" it for the stations to come in.  All I can say is thank goodness that this park has Wi-Fi!  It cost $5 and it wasn't the best signal but it was better than nothing, especially since we hadn't had internet for the last 6 days!

It's a good thing that we arrived when we did because it wasn't long before all of the sites were taken, except one beside us...
A pretty nice spot...even if these sites on the point are close together...

We had our happy hour looking out over the lake...beautiful!

And you can't beat the view from inside, looking out the back window...

We unhitched during our set up, something we haven't done during our last couple of stops...but tomorrow we are going to make a day trip to Stewart and Hyder (Alaska).  We're really looking forward to it!
