Friday, September 6, 2013 (Travel to Prince George, BC)

It was another early start to the day.  We took up Theo's offer of using the bathroom in the shop to have showers...that saves water as well holding tank space.  Steve took some pictures while I was having my shower. We were totally fogged in when we got up but as it started to clear the ranch looked really cool...

It was about 7:20 when we pulled out of Theo and Loralee's driveway...thanks again!

The horse came out of the timber to see us off...

What a gorgeous morning...

We stopped in Smithers to fuel up with diesel and were on the road heading east at 8:00.  It was a wee bit foggy...but just in low valley sections.  We would drive through a socked in section....
...and then it would be clear and beautiful...

 ...and then foggy again...

Very odd...a dirt airstrip with  jet sitting on it...

Fraser Lake...

Just at the outskirts of Prince George now...

The Fraser River...

The Prince George ATV Club share the trails with the Snowmobile Club and also uses the area by the clubhouse as a staging/camping area.

With the directions Marlaine gave us, along with Serena (our GPS), we had no problem finding the spot.  This is the final drive in to the camping area...

We arrived at 2:00 and were greeted by Jeff...Marlaine (Jeff's wife),  Ralph and Sheila (from the Quad Squad South Cariboo Club, near 100 Mile House) were still out on the trails.  Jeff had returned to camp due to over heating problems with his ATV.  We decided on a spot, leveled off and were just finishing our set up when Bob and Sue arrived and set up their trailer beside us. We first met them in Arizona a couple of years ago and in addition to riding with them there, have joined them in a number of ATV/BC events.  Bob is a Director with ATV./BC, as is Ralph...Jeff is President.

Marlaine, Ralph and Sheila returned from their ride a little later and came over to greet us. They went to get cleaned up and then we joined them all over at their camp for drinks and a little catching up on the ATV/BC events this past summer.  We had had such a great time last summer at the events...we plan on joining them again next year.

After dinner, we joined the group at the campfire.  The actual Poker Ride is Sunday but tomorrow, we are going out on a ride with Bob, Sue, Greg and his wife, Sue...looking forward to it!
