Wednesday and Thursday, August 1 and 2, 2012 (Lac le Jeune Provincial Park, Kamloops, BC)

I was up at 6:00 this morning...for some reason, I have started waking up earlier again...sheesh!  It was a beautiful start to the day...the sky was clear as the sun came around.  Unfortunately, a high cloud covering came in as the morning wore on.

After my morning coffee and completing yesterday’s blog, I headed out for my morning power walk.  Once back, we had breakfast and then Steve decided he was going to do some maintenance work on the trailer.

It had been awhile since the rubber seals on the sliders had been treated so he spent the rest of the morning working on the sliders on the shaded side of the trailer.  The light cloud covering had cleared considerably making it quite warm out there.

While he was doing that, I was on the laptop inside working on some emails...I also purchased our tickets to the Abbotsford Air Show.  They are offering a special weekend camping package...$200 for 5 nights camping (August 8-12) and general admission to the show for all 3 days (for a max of 8 people).  Considering that admission is $30/person/day...it’s a pretty good deal.

A couple of hours later, Steve decided that was enough for today...he would do the other side later when it’s not in the direct sunshine (later on, he decided it could wait for another day).  We read for awhile...I’m trying to get into a new book and so far it hasn’t caught my interest; Steve was on the iPad.

We are getting into quite a routine here...again today we went for a bike ride around 3:00  and then after dinner, a power walk.  We are getting our exercise with bike rides and power walks...and some good cardio with all the hills.

Thursday was 'resistant training' day, after which I went for my morning power walk while Steve had his shower.   It had rained overnight and there were still some ugly looking clouds hanging around...but they were breaking up and the forecast was for clearing and warmer temps.

When I got back from my walk, Steve was just finishing his breakfast and was about to go out and “fix” the boat...it had shifted over to one side.  As it turned out, he had to offload the boat and shorten the line on one side...the new cord had obviously stretched.

It was shortly before noon when we left for Kamloops to go shopping.  After stops at Costco, Safeway, Walmart and Home Depot, we were back home...it was going onto 5:00.  As in so many places in BC, we have driven through the outskirts of Kamloops on our way to Alberta but had never stopped.  We ended up seeing a bit more this trip...I took pictures along the way...

We took Lac le Jeune Road on the way into Kamloops...it was pretty bumpy (especially in our truck) so we took the highway back.  I believe this is Stake Lake...

Beautiful farm fields...

Even a tunnel...

Not sure if this is dried salt or calcium...

This is just before we got to the outskirts of Kamloops...that's highway 5 in the distance...

Here we are going down the hillside and will be crossing the Thompson River...

After dinner we did our usual walk around the campground...today we stopped for a break at the end of the pier...

We were lying in bed watching TV when we heard a “snap”...followed by some more noise...oh, you silly mouse...you shouldn’t try to get into our house!  Yup, another mouse.  That one spot in the kitchen where the slider goes out where they like to come in and Steve always sets up the trap in that corner.  It’s amazing that they can get through that spot but they do!  Steve got up and “disposed” of our friend by throwing it out the door...sure hope that his friends don’t try to come in ‘cause the spot is now “trap-less” for the rest of the night!!
