Thursday, July 5, 2012 (Sheridan Lake Resort, Lone Butte, BC)

Steve was up early and jumped right into the shower...no lolly-gagging around this morning...he was going fishing.  After a quick bite to eat, he gathered some snacks and was off...it was around 7:30.  The sun was shining; it is going to be a great day!

I spent the morning working on our blog and cleaning up around here...actually, it was a nice relaxing start to the day.

Steve came back in from fishing just before 11:30. He said he caught one fish...about 14"... a fair size by Vancouver Island standards but small for here...no pictures, though.  He took some pictures while out on the water...

There are some beautiful homes along the lakeshore...

Sheridan Lake Resort as Steve heads back in...

After lunch we went for a walk up to Sheridan Lake Store; a short distance up to the highway.  It is a grocery store, liquor store, tackle shop, book exchange and post office...all in one!  There is also a cafe and hair salon next to it.

On our way past the resort office, I took this picture...Sheridan Lake Lighthouse...Suzanne, this is for you!...

When we got back, Steve took some pictures around the resort with his camera...

...and then relaxed in the on again/off again sun...there are still too many clouds hanging around!  I continued working on our blog...the pictures were slow to upload today.  But finally, I managed to get it done and after Steve did his review, I published them...yay...the blog is up-to-date!

Later in the afternoon, we sat and chatted with our neighbours in the camper behind us...Phil and Cathy are from Fort St. John, BC.  We learned alot about the area they live in and they gave us many suggestions of places to see and things to do when we head further north.

We headed out for an evening fish at 7:00...it was absolutely gorgeous out on the lake!

Steve is soooo in his element...

...me...not as much...

These Loons swam right by our boat...love their “call”...

After 2 hours and no fish...we decided to go in.  In an article Steve read in one of his fishing magazines it states “...while Sheridan Lake offers good fly-fishing for rainbows in excess of 10-pounds, the lake can be moody.”  Well, I think it’s being “moody” right now!
